Spyware got you down? It sure as hell has me down...but then again I'm an IS manager. Anyway, after searching around for good spyware fixes, I happened onto this site...I am now using several of the freeware tools, and find they work better than their commercial counterparts in many cases. Have fun, and good luck. Posted at 11:25 AM |

Holy Grail Legos This has been out there for a while, but I had forgotten all about it until reminded by 15times.com. For those who know Holy Grail, this is priceless...a brilliantly made work of genius....the Camelot song and dance scene done entirely with Legos. For those who do not know Grail, it's still kinda funny, but will probably hit you outta left field (in which case you need to go rent it today!) Posted at 10:09 PM |

New Book All About U.S. Tax Code Bullshit Guess what....Bush, Dean, Kerry, whoever...it ain't gonna make a bit of difference. This will be getting far worse before it ever gets any better. You and I will continue to pay more and more in taxes, we will continue to pay vast amounts into Social Security, and we will never see a penny of it when our time comes. Posted at 3:39 PM |

The Quest For Tea In San Francisco Begins No, not loose tea to take home. Afternoon tea, cream tea, high tea, low tea...you know...tea service. I used to live in the UK and "tea" got built into my system. We decided to get on the web and check out who is serving tea. We found The King George Hotel on Mason street, and a couple of people rated the service as "the most English in San Francisco." Sadly we didn't pause to think that the reviewers might have their heads up their asses. To give them the benefit of the doubt, it is quite possible that when they wrote their reviews, it was a good tea. The cream tea service is $8.50 per person. First off - the tea was fine - a good English Breakfast. The china and teapots were just fine as well. Sugar was on the table in packets - a loss of points, but not a make or break item. Every table had a vase with a fake rose - again, points off, but not deadly. What killed the whole thing for us was the scones. I know what you're thinking, "the scones? You are such a snob." But wait! These weren't just bad scones. They were big old american style cakey scones - big points off. They were full of little cinnamon struesel bits - bigger points off. They were FROSTED with this thick layer of too sweet cinnamon frosting...and to really drive the in the last nail...they were microwaved. These abominations masquerading as scones were served to us with a tiny jar of Devon Cream and a tiny jar of orange marmalade. Who the hell needs jam on a scone that's way to sweet to begin with? With an $8 per person minimum, there's no way to just go and enjoy a pot of tea, so we give this one a zero - avoid at all costs. As Stacy put it, quite correctly, we'll never forget how bad it was (a good thing a year from now), and everywhere else we try should look up from this one. Posted at 3:30 PM |
